Alico's Small Aperture X-band SATCOM On the Move Terminal For Blue Force Tracking

Alico Systems has developed a Small Aperture X-band SATCOM-On-The-Move Terminal named as SAXBA. It is being developed for use in next generation Blue Force Tracking (BFT), and Command, Control & Communications (C3) applications. The terminal is based on state of the art phased array technology with an embedded networking modem, autonomous antenna pointing & stabilization system and plug and play IP networking capability. The terminal has a small foot print of 10.75"x10.75"x5.5"H and provides full hemispheric coverage.  Designed to operate on the DoD's Wideband Global System (WGS) and Loral's XTAR satellite constellations. This WGS SATCOM-On-The-Move (SOTM) terminal is the smallest MILSATCOM terminal on the market. Recently completed on the move satellite testing with XTAR (see online article). Product deliveries available from October 2012.

Come see us in SATCOM 2013 at the Washington DC Convention Center from 18 to 21 March 2013

RF Products

Synthesized RF Transceiver and Integrated Digital Beacon Receiver

Alico Systems is introducing a OEM version embeddable state of the art synthesized X-band Up/Down Frequency Converter with an integrated satellite beacon receiver. The unit provides dual channel digitally tunable down converters from X-band (7250-7750 MHz) to L-band IF (950-1450 MHz), a single channel tunable up converter from L-band (950-1450 MHz) to X-band (7900-8400 MHz), and a integrated tunable satellite beacon receiver with digital beacon acquisition and reception capability. Ruggedized design to meet system level MIL-STD-810G requirements with excellent phase noise and stability characteristics designed to meet MIL-STD-188-164B requirements. Interfaces include RF In/Out, IF In/Out, Ethernet, Single voltage 24-48 VDC power option. Ethernet based provisioning and monitoring/control interface and a standard web browser based graphical user interface.

Options include GPS receiver, motion sensors and software defined radio OMAP/Xilinx FPGA front end for hosting a embeddable modem waveform. Also available in a sealed connectorized module or 1U rack mount chassis.

Standard OEM version available for delivery 60 days after receipt of order.

Motion Sensor Platforms

Kinetic3500 OMAP FPGA Motion Sensor Development Kit

Alico Systems is introducing Kinetic 3500 (see data sheet) – The turn-key embedded development kit based on open-source software for Texas Instrument's OMAP3530 processor. Equipped with working applications and software drivers for onboard peripherals, Kinetic 3500 allows developers to focus time and resources on development of product differentiation features.  This reduces time learning the fundamentals of OMAP, writing basic software drivers, or getting up to speed on information about open source software. The kit is integrated with standard peripheral interfaces, GPS, gyroscope, magnetometer, accelerometer, and temperature sensors, enabling immediate evaluation and development of OMAP’s applications. The robust Web based GUI provides extensive diagnostic and configuration capabilities.  The onboard Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA gives developers the capability to implement custom hardware functionality and signal processing algorithms without actual hardware redesign.  Flexibility and rapid prototyping offered by the FPGA provide added benefits to the overall product development cycle including minimal redesign of hardware, faster time-to-market, and field upgrades.  Alico Kinetic 3500 is an ideal platform for early and rapid prototyping.

Kinetics3500 is based on the proven LogicPD Torpedo SOM module.
